EXP 2: 5 Concepts for 2 Architects

Frederick Kiesler :

Five concepts:
  • Cor-realism: Expresses the dynamics of continual interaction between man and nature and technological environment.
  • Biomorphic: Endless form in a reaction to modern style(international) which is skin+Bone+body shape.
  • Anthropomorphism: Interior senses are all connected like human organs.
  • Infinite: The exterior and interior of the building are connected together to create a endless building.
  • Continues: The space has no special end. Continues caused the surface, maintain the structure of the building without a column and frame.

Preston Scott Cohen:

Five Concepts:
  • Geometry Transformation: The building was designed by geometrical factors and using its transformation to define the movement int he space of the building.
  • Oblique: The novel application by using oblique surface of the geometrical factors to design the transformation about the shape and achieve the effect about light fall.
  • Lightfall: The architectural intervention--using the twisting and oblique surfaces and connecting the desperate angles to reflect natural light into the deepest recesses of the half- buried building.(let the light cross the building...)
  • Contraction: Using simple color (only white) and smooth movement of curve and line which has confuse structure to create the feeling of the simplicity.
  • Rotary: Twisted surface, the falling natural light and the shadow created by these can take vision moving rotation ally  to the deep...
